Well-earned recognition for Geri Richmond

May 20th, 2011

I was thrilled to learn earlier this month that chemistry professor Geri Richmond was elected into the membership of the National Academy of Sciences. This is one of the highest honors given to a scientist or an engineer in the nation, and it is one more well-deserved honor for Geri.

When she’s inducted next April in Washington, D.C., she’ll join six other current UO members of the Academy: Terrell Hill (biophysics and computational biology), Frank Stahl (genetics), Peter von Hipple (biochemistry), Mike Posner (psychology and cognitive sciences), and John Schellman (biophysics and computational biology).

I am honored to have such colleagues.
